Appalachian & British Isles Ballads
These old mountains in the southeast of the USA are rich in old story songs. Many of these songs have older roots back to Ireland, Scotland and England.
This workshop slows us down to enjoy and savor and learn a ballad. Perhaps we'll add a harmony or two as well.
We'll focus on ornamentation, performance, style, tricks for learning words and the history and origin of the songs.

Harmony by Ear
The harmony of notes crashing and swirling together is a wonderful thing to participate with and is something to practice, play and explore.
In this workshop we delve into music making with notes, deep listening, making "mistakes" and doing it again. It's a jump in and have fun kind of class. We learn by doing.
This workshop is about the joy of singing and learning new skills and training up our courage and ears. It is not focused around theory or reading music.
